Second Look is the follow up to Second Chances, a book by Connie that I just really adored.
This book, was no different; I just couldn't put it down.
Connie has a talent for creating characters with spark, determination and realism that has you feeling for them from page one.
Her main character Jennifer is a resilient, hardworking mother whose just had a bit of bad luck that I felt we could all relate to. Adam, though it took a while for him to grow on me, proved to be the perfect 'hero' in this type of story. A man of incredible flaw, trying to make up for mistakes of a misguided youth.
This is a wonderful, emotionally driven story that will have you saying 'just one more chapter, just one more chapter...'

Love this second book by Connie Stephany. It's fun to meet a character in one book and to learn their story in another. It was a sweet, fun read. It's nice to read a book with a happy ending. Can't wait to see what's next!!!
Once again, Connie Stephany's story kept me up late reading her book! I did not want to put it down. It is a wonderful, "cozy," book for reading on a hot summer night or in the cold of winter. I look forward to more from this author!
I loved the storyline about a young couple fulfilling their goals of college and careers. The distance tears them apart but fate has a way of bringing them back together. With everything that happened in the past can they make it work?
Connie Stephany wrote a brilliant follow up to her first novel Second Chances - I love how we get to see it from another character's perspective! I really was not an Adam fan in the first novel #TeamMax, but I love Adam now! I recommend this for fun summer beach reading, or reading on a stormy night - however I snuck it in during lulls at work because I COULD NOT put it down. LOVE IT! Can't wait to see more from this emerging author.
Second Look is a feel-good love story with real life complications. Jennifer has lost all hope in true love when her life doesn't go as planned. She is used to running from her problems and leaving all the complications in the past. This time however, it seems that fate may be bringing her back to the man she thought she would be with forever. The author uses vivid descriptions to bring the characters to life. She also incorporates real Minnesota details, like going to a Twins Game, spending time at the lake, and The Minnesota State Fair. Second Look is charming, romantic, and easy to read. It keeps you turning pages hoping for that perfect happy ending. Love!
